FREE ESL Civics & Citizenship Application Prep Classes

Cumberland County Schools’ English as a Second Language (ESL)
Department has partnered with Fayetteville Technical Community College to
offer FREE ESL Civics and Citizenship Application Preparation Classes.
Parents can learn to speak English while their child is in school. There is open
enrollment throughout the school year.

ESL classes are being held on

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at 1307
Hillsboro Street/Fayetteville, NC. For more information, call 910.484.1176.

 

El departamento de Inglés como Segundo Lenguaje de las escuelas del
condado de Cumberland conjuntamente con Fayetteville Technical
Community College, estará ofreciendo clases gratuitas de Inglés como
Segundo Lenguaje, clases de Cívica y Preparación para la Ciudadanía
Americana. Aprenda a hablar Inglés mientras su (s) niño (s) están en la
escuela.

Unase a nosotros todos los martes, miércoles y jueves de 9:00 a.m. a
1:00 p.m. a partir del 19 de septiembre del 2017 en el 1307 Hillsboro St.
Fayetteville, Carolina del Norte. Tenemos registración abierta durante el año

Military Academies Fair

Students, parents, staff, and members of the E. E. Smith community are invited to the annual Military Academies Fair which is hosted by Fort Bragg.  The Military Academies Fair is a College Fair that feature representatives from service academies (e.g. West Point, US Air Force Academy), senior military colleges (e.g. The Citadel, Virginia Military Institute), corps of cadets schools (e.g. Virginia Tech, Norwich University), and post-secondary ROTC programs.

When:  Thursday, October 5, 2017, 5-7PM

Where:  Family Readiness Group Center, Fort Bragg/Pope Field, BLDG 236, Interceptor St.

Why:  Fort Bragg is the home of the 18th Airborne Corps, 82nd Airborne, Special Operations Command, FORSCOM and ARCOM.  The military footprint in the local community is large and there are many high school students considering pursuing post-secondary education military service.

Free and open to the public.

Tentative class schedules for the 2017-2018 school year were mailed home on August 4th. 

Students interested in NCVPS, FTCC, and/or teleconferencing classes should contact their counselor to determine eligibility to take those courses.

Schedule changes will be made based upon priority and availability of classes. Please be aware that a request to change one class may lead to additional changes in your schedule. 

Request submissions have been extended until August 12, 2017 by 6:00 pm.   The Google Form will no longer be available after this date to allow counselors ample time to review all requests. 

Information will not be available regarding the status of your request until Open House onThursday, August 24, 2017
