The Cumberland County District PTA will host a Back to School Leadership Training Session for PTA members on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the West Regional Library on Cliffdale Road.  Parents can register at http://ncpta.org/index.php/events/workshops-training/2016-fall-leadership-training/ .

Football Player

The Varsity Football Team will participate in the CCS Football Jamboree on Thursday, August 11 at 6:00 pm at Luther “Nick” Jeralds Stadium on the campus of Fayetteville State University.  Come out and support our student athletes.

Fall Sports TryoutsAre you interested in participating in  cheerleading, football, cross country, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, women’s volleyball, or women’s golf?  Tryouts for these sports begin this week.  You must have a current physical.  Physicals will be given at the school on Thursday, August 4 at 6:00 in the Band Room for $15.  Contact Lawrence Smalls, Athletic Director at 910-483-0153 or at lawrencesmalls@ccs.k12.nc.us for further information.

An Athletic Interest Student-Parent Meeting will be held this Thursday, July 28 at 6:00pm in the E. E. Smith Cafeteria.  Fall Sports are:  Varsity & JV Football, Men’s Soccer, Varsity & JV Cheerleading, Women’s Tennis, and Women’s Golf.  Students will need an Athletic Physical prior to participating in Fall Sports Tryouts on Monday, August 1.  Physicals will be available on campus in the Bandroom on Thursday, August 4th at 6:00pm.  Contact Lawrence Smalls, Athletic Director for further information.

The aroma at E.E. Smith High School is so strong and robust we are NOT waiting for the next school year.

We are kicking off our Spice Program

Strengthening Parent Involvement in their Children’s Education

with our 9th graders and your 8th graders in mind. We are taking off the lid and allowing YOU to experience the 2016-2017 Spice Program and it’s incentives first hand.

Incentive Drawings will be earned by parents or family member(s) that have been involved in their Children’s education and to inspire and motivate more parents the importance of being physically involved. So in 2015-2016, if you attended Open House, Parent Teacher conferences, Award ceremony (ies), PTA meetings, and has a current membership card – you will qualify to win prizes selected with the parents in mind. 192.7 points is all you need at the Spice Kick-Off. Bring your signed attendance sheets for points.
